What is different in filtering spam for IMAP accounts?
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a protocol for remote access to e-mail. Using the protocol Microsoft Outlook provides an interface
for reading e-mails but messages aren't saved to Outlook folders and remain on the mail server. Although working with Outlook via IMAP
the user doesn't see any difference there are some details that have to be taken into account for spam filtering.
First of all - the notification about a new incoming mail. IMAP account notifications are very different from those of POP3 accounts
and a spam filter has to distinguish them.
